Anxiety Specialist
As an anxiety specialist with over a decade of mental health experience, Abigail Lynch, LCPC is equipped and prepared to help you as an individual. As a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and founder of Limitless Counseling Center, she helps people in Chicago, IL overcome their struggles, frustrations, and anxiety.
Is Anxiety Impacting Your Life?
Abigail Lynch, LCPC sees young adults and adults who struggle with sudden onset of intense worry and fear that leads to very uncomfortable physiological sensations. These include symptoms of racing heart rate, shortness of breath, hyperventilating, sweating, tunnel vision and more.
Whether you are looking for therapy treatment or a clarifying diagnosis assessment we are equipped to meet your needs.
Often clients coming into treatment will describe feeling like their worries are out of control and often notice others aren’t experiencing the same level of concern around them. This leads to an understanding that their worries may be unjustified or at least potentially excessive and the nature of these thoughts are disruptive in at least one area of their lives.
Cognitive Therapy to Overcome Anxiety
Abigail is professionally trained to approach anxiety therapy with response prevention techniques. We first provide clients with psychoeducation about the nature of anxiety to create a foundational understanding of their symptoms for therapy to build on.
We then use a cognitive behavioral therapy approach with exposure response prevention techniques. This helps clients learn to identify distorted thinking patterns and possible reframes, as well as better approach the situations they often have avoided out of anxiety. Further, we help clients identify what their values are so that their treatment work is based on what they care about. Often anxiety work is very challenging so it’s always helpful to have that motivation and momentum to lean on when exposures and treatment tools feel arduous.
