No. Exposure therapy is always gradual and collaborative. We first build a detailed understanding of your fear and create a hierarchy of situations ordered from least to most anxiety-provoking. You will never be pushed into a situation before you are ready. Many exposures can also be done imaginally or through video before approaching real-life situations. While talking about phobias in session is an exposure, you will be supported each step of the way and not thrown off the deep end into the work.
